The Friends of the Wissahickon (FoW) is installing new signage in the neighborhood and they request your feedback on the sign text. A “single kiosk” will be placed at the trailhead (off of the road) at the end of Sumac Street on Vicaris Street. One side will provide trail information for the park, and the other side will include the option for a community board.

The proposed text reads:
This trail leads to the Lincoln Drive Bike Trail, David P. Montgomery Field, Hermit’s Cave, the Hermitage, and the southern terminus of the Yellow Trail.
The Yellow Trail can be accessed on the other side of the Hermitage, or from Hermit’s Lane. It is the longest trail in the park and parallels Forbidden Drive for 7.9 miles. It meanders through upland forests with occasional spur trails leading to Forbidden Drive and the surrounding neighborhoods.
This section of the trail is hiker only; Yellow Trail is multi-use; be mindful of other trail users.
You may send your proposed edits to info@wissahickon.us by no later than Friday, February 17, 2023 at 5PM.
